COURSE DESCRIPTION

What is it?

Explore Vinyasa Breath-based Yoga, through intelligent and inspired sequencing to create experiences of embodiment, expansion, and integration.

Emerge with an understanding of the ways breath and embodiment create inspired experiences through yoga flows. As well as  the capacity to create intelligent and inspired yoga classes for your own personal practice and to guide others.

Who is it for?

This course / certification is a great compliment to any yoga teacher's training that is interested in creating intelligent and inspiring classes that are bespoke and meaningful.

This is also a great journey for anyone, non-teachers included, who wants to dive deeper into their practice and their knowledge of vinyasa yoga.

FORMAT

The course is split into four main areas:

Breath & Embodiment: The breath is the basis or our practice.  It inspires the movement and carries us to the full embodiment of each posture. Experience and learn to guide breath based, embodied flows.

Evolution of Flow: Learn variations of Suraya Namskar (Sun Salutations) & Chandra Namskar (moon saluations) as the basis of a vinyasa flow practice. Learn to guide these fluidly in ways that are the most beneficial for your students.

Architecture of Yoga: In our asana labs, we explore the purpose, energy and structure of each posture. We look at how postures movement and breath create the experience of synergy.

Intelligent and Inspired Sequencing:

'Vinyasa' means to place things a certain way. We'll explore how to create meaningful and accessible practices for all.

THE POWER OF TEACHING

If you want to help make a positive impact on your students the best thing you can do is to learn to teach in a person-centred way.

"There exists an indisputable connection between a person's overall physical and mental health and the inner peace and well-being yoga is designed to achieve", concludes one of many research papers published in the National Library of Medicine.

Teaching makes a difference in people's lives.

THE TEACHERS

who teach teachers

Elizabeth and Aoife are available to answer any questions and help guide you as you decide how to journey deeper into the study of self and yoga.

We teach who we are before we teach what we know.

Aoife O' Dalaigh

Part of what I love about yoga is that it’s a journey of discovery and constant learning.

To my teachers, thank you.

As a student, I was diving into texts by Rumi, Ram Dass, Tara Brach, Eckhart Tolle… and attending workshops and retreats. I have always been fascinated by mindfulness, ancient India Yoga teachings and holistic therapies. I am a Licensed Skincare Practitioner and have my Reiki 1 & 2 levels.

When the time came to enrol in formal training, I could not wait to marry the philosophy with anatomy and asanas. The natural evolution was to go back to Santa Monica, where my practice took hold. I chose Yoga Works for my first teacher training and have gone on to take additional courses.

These various influences have helped me build a framework under which I study and guide others on and off the mat.

Elizabeth Welty

Passionate about yoga, dance and the arts from the beginning, Elizabeth believes in the transformative potential of these mediums for personal and social change. Growing up, she was a member of a pre-professional ballet company, and loved time in the studio for the cultivation of presence & movement. In 2008 she received her ‘Registered yoga Teacher’ (RYT 200 – Yoga Alliance) from an Ashram in Boulder Colorado, yet her passion for movement, breath and music led her to Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

As a yoga teacher, she seeks to empower students to be strong, flexible and easy in their bodies, peaceful and clear in their minds, and playful in spirit.
